Do you ever get a funny feeling in your tummy or about your tummy? Well I know I certainly do which is most likely linked to my pregnancy! I was challenged by Kellogg’s and the wonderful people at BritMums to take the All-Bran 5-Day Challenge.
Did you know that 90 to 95 per cent of the ‘happy’ hormone serotonin is made in the gut? A study of 1,000 UK women found 52% experience digestive complaints at least once a week. Eating fibre everyday is a simple remedy for happy tums. The fact that I’ve been experiencing pretty awful bloating and gas recently, again due to pregnancy, meant I was rather excited to receive the three flavours of cereal; Golden Crunch, Red Berry Crunch and Chocolate Wheats. Yes chocolate!!
I’m very particular with cereals. I like them to be crunchy and more often than not will eat my cereal without milk. But I’ve been trying to up my intake of calcium lately as I know I don’t eat much normally. So I did try each flavour with milk. Hubby and the girls also tried them. Hubby’s favourite flavour was the Red Berry Crunch and both the girls and loved the chocolate wheats – of course!
P1 is partial to some cereal so she’s had a bowl for snack after school every day. P2 absolutely adores the chocolate wheats as a little sofa snack whilst watching telly.
After I’d completed the 5 day challenge of having a bowl of All-Bran cereal, I can honestly say I felt less bloated and generally more comfortable. Having that slight difference has made my pregnancy a lot easier but it also means I can look forward to a healthier future too by adding a . Certainly a happy gut makes for a happier person. I’m learning to embrace my belly not because it’s bloating anymore from pregnancy digestion problems, but because it’s beautiful and I’m growing a human. Kellogg’s haven’t solved pregnancy indigestion but they have made things a lot more comfortable for me.
