I know, you are probably wondering why one person would need so many pushchairs in their lives right?! Well the most recent addition to our family is the brand new Britax Affinity 2. I think the main reason we have several pushchairs is because we need one for different types of adventures so our B-Agile Double is perfect for when we are doing long distances, or long days out with all five of us and now the Affinity 2 will be for when we just have the tiniest munchkin to lug about.
The Britax Affinity 2 is a the successor of the award winning Britax Affinity and has been designed with fashion conscious parents in mind. There are four different chassis colours to pick from; white, black, silver and chrome. On top of that there are six different colour packs to choose from which can be swapped round depending on your mood, location or even for subsequent children. The colours are; Lagoon Green, Cosmos Black, Flame Red, Wood Brown, Ocean Blue and Mineral Lilac which is quite obviously the colour we picked for P3.
The Britax Affinity 2 is suitable from 6 months of age until around 3 years old or 17kg. It’s a travel system pushchair which means the seat and chassis folds in two pieces and can be interchanged with a car seat or the Hard Carrycot which makes the Affinity 2 suitable from birth as it gives you the lie flat option. The Britax Affinity 2 is really easy to put together, you basically unfold the frame and click on the wheels. The colour pack was also really simple to fit together too and I loved how the cosytoe part was actually more stiff allowing extra space for the child’s feet to kick about.
I have been really pleasantly surprised with the Britax Affinity 2. We had a different travel system for when P1 and P2 were babies and I found it so heavy and difficult to fold for my stature. The Affinity 2 is so incredibly light and although it’s a little inconvenient to fold down in two parts, the seat clicks on and off with little effort. I actually expected to have to tug and pull at it and nearly sent myself flying when it came off with barely a touch to the button.
The Britax Affinity 2 has a five point harness which again is really easy to navigate. I love the cute little bar over the lap and P3 was so excited about her new “pam”. It has an adjustable handle bar, the seat reclines and the hood extends. I just find the Affinity 2 so adaptable to any lifestyle whether that’s shopping in a busy highstreet or a lazy walk in the park. I love that Britax always have large basket space under the pram which is excellent for a busy family.
The Britax Affinity 2 offers a really smooth, comfortable ride in style and I would highly recommend it to any parent looking for a travel system that can grow with your child and family. It costs £465 for the main travel system with the hard carrycot being extra. Head to Britax to check it out. This genuinely feels like a luxurious travel system with a reasonable price tag.
