This is the last of our Isle Of Wight holiday posts, which I’m sure you are quite relieved about. There’s a link below so you can find all of them in one place if you fancied a recap and also a link with the IOW video playlist.
I had tried to extend our trip by changing the time of our ferry tickets to the afternoon and not the morning, but thankfully we were unable to. I say thankfully because we woke up to rain and it much chillier. We had been so incredibly lucky with stunning warm and sunny weather with only a spotting of rain on one of the nights. I always feel really anxious about going home from a holiday so waking up to rain made it a little bit easier for me.
The journey from Kempshill Farm to the ferry was really short. We filled the car up with petrol then headed to the port. Our ferry was at 10:30am but we arrived early as usual and once again we were able to get the earlier ferry. I was really nervous about this ferry trip as the weather and water seemed a little rougher than our arrival journey.
I felt the journey but not so much to make me feel ill. It seemed busier, P1 and I was queuing for the toilet for pretty much the whole of the journey. Before we knew it we had to get back in the car and we were back on the mainland. The girls slept and I think I dozed off too which was good. Everybody was so exhausted.
It felt good to be home but at the same time I missed the peace and tranquility of country living. I missed space too and being able to let the girls roam around freely knowing that there was enough family members around to keep a little eye on them if we were out of sight. The Isle of Wight is 100% my new favourite place to holiday with the girls. There was so much we crammed into our holiday yet so much left unturned too. Hubby has said he wants to return with just me as a couple retreat one weekend. I am already looking forward to that!
