Weather Craft Fun #BostikBloggers

This months theme is definitely appropriate. The weather is finally feeling warmer and brighter which generally makes things feel happier for me. Of course we are in England and the weather is never really certain. We were sent another box of fun craft supplies from Bostik and this month I came up with an idea. I originally wanted a weather mobile type thing but actually putting them on a hanger works really well. Here’s how to make your own:

1

You Will Need:

  • A hanger
  • Glue
  • Paper plates
  • Different themed craft supplies; blue bits for rain, thunder bolt stickers, rain clouds, buttons, tissue paper etc
  • Wool/string
  • White paper
  • Clips/mini pegs

How To Make The Weather Hanger

First of all the girls “brain stormed” some weather ideas. They came up with 4 weathers; rain, snow, sun and storm. So we divided the craft supplies into those four groups on the paper plates.

They then had free reign to decorate the plate depending on the chosen weather. P1 had snow, P2 had thunder, P3 and I had the sun and rain. We talked about the different weathers and what you’d expect to experience.

2

Whilst the plates dry, cut out a tree shape from paper and colour in. I gave this job to P1 as I wanted her to focus on something creative rather than watch telly.

3

When everything is dry you need to assemble it all together. Poke holes in the tops of the paper plates and thread some wool or string through the tops. Attach these to a hanger and arrange how you fancy.

4

Write out the weather labels and attach these using clips or pegs to the wool. Give your creation a name, I was very inspired obviously so just went with “Weather Fun” as we’d been talking about the different weathers as we crafted.

5

This is a really simple activity and all of us were able to get involved in making it. I’ve even hung it up indoors and the girls love looking at it and telling me what the weather will be like each day. You could add more plates too like windy or cloudy. This is a great rainy day activity or even fun in the garden.
