“She was hysterical!”

We had the absolute day from hell with P1 yesterday. Anything we said to her just wasn’t good enough. She repeated over and over. Did things we told her not to do. And then when it came to bedtime… Oh didn’t she perform! Firstly, she took ages to persuade to go to the toilet. I had to repeat myself over …

Feeling Calmer

I cannot believe how grown up P1 is. She’s always been very mature for her age but recently she’s been outstanding especially with her little sister! In the past few days she’s been so helpful. Actually asking to change P2s bottom, get her dressed and give her a bottle. This evening she wanted to feed her sister her dinner, and …

I’m Vulnerable… Leave Me Alone!!!

Kids are so clever. Ridiculously. Or at least my one is. P1 always knows when we are at our most vulnerable. She’ll choose just the right moments to misbehave and cause a fuss. We had a truly superb day yesterday… We’d been to a play area that we hadn’t been to in ages and we even did some art which …

My Orange Rhino Challenge

I’ve found myself shouting less. Thinking about what I’m doing. Ok, I still have my moments. But on an overall, I’m loads better at controlling my anger towards P1. And what’s better is although she has her moments, her behaviour is gradually getting better. So, I’m stopping the challenge. I figured you probably don’t want to read “no shouting” everyday …

Challenge Day#11

I cannot believe it! I haven’t shouted today. Zero, zilch! I definitely see a huge difference in her behaviour when my OH is around and we are doing stuff as a complete family. She loves it. Very happy with P1 today.

Challenge Day#10

Absolutely fantastic day… Hadn’t raised my voice at all right up until 7pm when I noticed some lovely art all up my mothers lounge wall… Her cream wallpaper. Naughty step was done. And P1 was made to clean the drawings off by herself. Which she did with a massive grin on her face!!!!!! Why oh why can’t she just behave! …

Challenge Day#9

I didn’t shout or raise my voice! I had to repeat myself several times in a firm voice but it wasn’t a shout. Even when she accidentally wet herself again! Tomorrow will be a true test, it’s Friday and that always means lots of shouting… Plus we are having our first full day at home in AGESSSSS. Nightmare!!

Challenge Day#7

P1 was fantastic this morning! I didn’t have to raise my voice at all. 7:45PM – Raised to level 3, but it was a misunderstanding on my behalf so I apologised to her. Bedtime went smoothly too. Good day!

Challenge Day#6

9AM – I raised my voice to about a level 6. All we argued about was putting shoes and coats on. That’s how blooming ridiculous it was. I probably didn’t need to shout at her, I could have dealt with it in a mature calm manner – but I just didn’t. I couldn’t. I’m just so fed up of her …

Challenge Day#5

Today was a bad day for yelling. It started off amazing! She was so good getting dressed, we were all laughing and dancing about. Then we went round the MiLs and it just went downhill from there. P1 finds it hard to communicate properly with her younger Uncle. He’s nearly 3. One minute they’ll be playing beautifully, the next Uncle …

Challenge Day#4

10AM – First need to raise my voice today, probably because I was hungry and completely not P1s fault that she was grating on me, level 3 for repeatedly telling me she was hungry, despite eating all her breakfast X2. 1PM – Had to firmly tell P1 that she was indeed going to go to her swimming lesson. Level 2 …

Challenge Day#3

10:30AM – Have to raise my voice to level 3, P1 has wet herself for the third day in a row and I’m not pleased! She isn’t a baby anymore and has been toilet trained for over a year now. 12:00PM – P1 starts to walk away from the car and into the car park, luckily no cars but I …

Challenge Day#2

7:30AM – Ask P1 to get dressed using a very cheerful happy, excited level 0 voice in the hope that my happiness will have a positive reaction with her. It does the trick and she laughs happily as she goes to the toilet and lets me dress her. 7:40AM – P1 happily eats her Rice Krispies without any fuss. 8:00AM …

Challenge Day#1

After writing a post about how low I have got with P1s behaviour (roarrrrrrr) a fellow blogger introduced me to 365 Day Challenge with The Orange Rhino. This is a challenge where you have to not yell (unless when your child is running across the road etc) for 365 Days, if you break it, you go back to day zero, …

Roarrrrrrr!

I’m a monster mummy, with a monster child. I hate who I’m becoming at the moment. All I do is shout, lose my patience, get frustrated, moan, cry and basically be a rubbish mother to P1. There’s my precious little baby smiling away at me, where’s my 4 year old… Oh yes there she is doing everything and anything she …
