Oh my goodness, hands up if you’re loving this hot weather? I definitely prefer warmer weather over the cold weather. It makes me feel happier and more at ease with life in general. We still have a few more days left of school for P1 but P2 has already broken up for the summer holidays. We’ve started to put together a list of all the things we want to do but this weather doesn’t make things easy believe it or not.
We don’t have our own garden. We can’t just open the door and let the girls wander in and out safely as they please. We always notice our need for a garden when the weather is warmer. The girls just adore being outside and they are happier whilst out exploring. I love the area we live in because it’s full of beautiful outdoor spaces and we have some amazing parks too, and if you follow me on social media you’ll know I spend a lot of time at our very local park.
Yesterday, P2s first proper day off nursery, I decided to take the girls for a morning stroll. I’d been made aware of a brand new park that’s been built in the new estate near our home. I hadn’t yet had the chance to visit but P2 recently expressed a want to try a new park so Monday was the day. At 10 o’clock it was already 24 degrees and the sun was shining but I decided that it was only going to get hotter so it was probably best to go on our adventure as early as possible. We smothered ourselves in sun cream and headed off.
We spent ages in the park. Just P2, P3 and me. Although the park was definitely too difficult for P3, she still really enjoyed herself. I did too and it was so lovely to just take a really chilled walk and play with the girls uninterrupted as the park was empty. It feels like being on holiday when the sun is out. I’ve got myself a nice looking tan and the girls have a healthy glow too. P3 has so rather amusing foot tan lines. Are you a lover or loather of the hot weather?
