Seeing Disney On Ice At The SSE Arena, Wembley

It feels like quite a long time ago that I ventured to The SSE Arena, Wembley for my first ever Disney On Ice. As a child I had ice skating lessons and grew a real passion for the sport until I fell pregnant and gave it up for safety reasons. I was really excited to be invited back there last week for another Disney On Ice.

We recently signed up to Disney Life and the girls have been really intrigued with all the old and new Disney films. I was really looking forward to seeing their faces when they saw the characters skating on the ice. We arrived with plenty of time to spare and parked in the Green car park which is just a short walk from arena. For those who haven’t been before, the SSE Arena is a smaller building next to the huge Wembley Stadium.

We were super lucky to be treated to a special private bar area with toilets. This worked really well for us as a family as we were able to keep the girls confined. We munched on some delicious food before heading into the arena and getting our seats. Inside the arena the seats are well thought out. The view isn’t restricted by tall people which is brilliant when you have small children attending.

The music starting and the show began. Instantly the girls were captivated by music and ice skating performers. P3 was especially delighted to see Minnie Mouse, her newly found hero. The show is split in two just like the usual theatre show. The first half of the show is an hour long with a 15-20 minute interval. Then the remaining part is shorter at 45 minutes.

I was in awe and I especially loved the Frozen section of the 100 Years Of Magic show. My youngest is aged two and a half and she was entertained the entire time. The effects and costumes throughout the performance was just brilliant and I think this is what kept the girls so entertained. They didn’t really have a chance to pause and look away!

The SSE Arena, Wembley is a brilliant venue for families. It’s easy to get to with plenty of parking space, or even by public transport. I feel that all the staff are really kind, approachable and accommodating too. We had a brilliant evening at the Disney On Ice show and we have already looked into other shows that will be there. I filmed our adventures, please don’t forget to subscribe!
