Real Mums All-Bran 5-Day Challenge

Do you ever get a funny feeling in your tummy or about your tummy? Well I know I certainly do which is most likely linked to my pregnancy! I was challenged by Kellogg’s and the wonderful people at BritMums to take the All-Bran 5-Day Challenge.

Did you know that 90 to 95 per cent of the ‘happy’ hormone serotonin is made in the gut? A study of 1,000 UK women found 52% experience digestive complaints at least once a week. Eating fibre everyday is a simple remedy for happy tums. The fact that I’ve been experiencing pretty awful bloating and gas recently, again due to pregnancy, meant I was rather excited to receive the three flavours of cereal; Golden Crunch, Red Berry Crunch and Chocolate Wheats. Yes chocolate!!

I’m very particular with cereals. I like them to be crunchy and more often than not will eat my cereal without milk. But I’ve been trying to up my intake of calcium lately as I know I don’t eat much normally. So I did try each flavour with milk. Hubby and the girls also tried them. Hubby’s favourite flavour was the Red Berry Crunch and both the girls and loved the chocolate wheats – of course!

I’m learning to embrace my belly not because it’s bloating anymore from pregnancy digestion problems, but because it’s beautiful and I’m growing a human. Kellogg’s haven’t solved pregnancy indigestion but they have made things a lot more comfortable for me.
