Pregnancy Diaries – 28 Weeks #3

After a short spout of bad weather, the good weather is back and my golly isn’t it?! It’s been an average of 26c the past few days and it doesn’t look to be cooling down. This heat is dreadful and I can see why everyone moans about summer babies. Both my girls were born in winter months meaning I was at my biggest during the coldness. Hubby and I really should have thought it through before getting down to the hanky panky with this one.

I think I could cope much better with the heat if I had clothes that fit me. Summery lose dresses and tiny shorts would do me fine but I’m just so reluctant to spend money on clothing that is 100% guaranteed never to be worn again. I must be bigger this time round because I was able to fit in all my leggings with P2 but this time I can’t. I went out today with my shorts fastened by a hair bobble.

I had a really scary turn the other night. I became all dizzy in the middle of the night, it felt like I was drunk or on a boat. I had to grab hold of things as I walked from our bedroom to deal with P2. It was terrifying. I haven’t felt like that since but it left me feeling pretty drained the next day. I’m seeing my midwife Monday so will ask about it then. I’ve heard it could be low sugars, low iron or low blood pressure. Considering I’m low on iron but taking a supplement 3 times a day, I’m pretty sure it wasn’t that but I’m no medical expert.

The hospital bag has had bits chucked inside but nothing’s neat yet. I’ve also got to invest in some maternity towels and get some new nighties. Other than the obvious ever growing bump there’s not much else to report on.

  1. Definitely mention the dizzy spell to your midwife- I’ve had similar and I suffer from low blood pressure but its always a good idea to get checked. And I would say that if you are still at the hair bobble through the fly stage, then you are doing really well! x x x

Mentioned to midwife yesterday. I always have high blood pressure and apparently the heat won’t help.

  2. Massively impressed you can do the hair bobble thing – my fave jeans stopped fitting me properly at 12 weeks, hair bobble and all! Thank you for linking up to #BlogBumpClub again – totally feel your pain re. the heat. My sleep the past two nights has been awful. I just can’t get comfy!

  3. I’m so impressed you can do the hair-tie trick on shorts still! I couldn’t even fit in to my maternity shorts from when I was pregnant with BB!

I’m only 4ft 8 so I’m assuming I have that to thank. I’m sporting the hair bobble today 🙂
