We don’t have a garden. Our little bit of outdoor space is a shared access way between our house and our outbuilding. This summer I’ve actually been brave enough to start using it. Our landlord put up a shelter a few months ago and it’s been great. It gives the feeling of having a conservatory and therefore we have started to take over and making do with the space we have.
With the weather far too hot yesterday to fully enjoy it and go on adventures outside, we were left sweating buckets indoors with all the windows open as wide as possible. The kids were irritable beyond belief, I was too and we needed some way of cooling down. P2 loves to play with the water from the water butt and we hadn’t actually been out there for a while so we gave her my watering can and she began to make muddy puddles.
P3 was desperate to get out and join in the action but I always worry about her poor little legs and she wasn’t wearing much from the heat. But I plucked up the courage to change her into a swim nappy and let her explore the muddy puddles. I’m really glad I did because she had a lovely time splashing. I really must remember to capture more moments on my big camera like these too.
