I’m A Morrisons Mum with Britmums

The latest campaign for Morrisons is yet a further cut in food prices. Over 1,000 every day items have had a huge slash in their prices. As part of this campaign there was a chance to receive £80 in vouchers to spend with Britmums.

A week later, £80 of Morrisons vouchers appeared in the post congratulating me for becoming a Morrisons Mum! All I had to do was shop during the bank holiday weekend and tell everyone about it.20140505-060354 pm.jpgMorrisons isn’t a shop we usually go to as the nearest is nearly 10miles away and we used to think they were rather expensive compared to their competitors. The journey there was so pretty, lots of country lanes, sheep and beautiful villages to pass through. P2 slept the whole way which is always a bonus ahead of a food shop.

On arriving, we realised that we didn’t have a pound coin or my special coin on my key ring for the trolley but luckily the staff were more than happy to change up a £10 note. We then ventured inside where we were handed a leaflet of the new store layout and information on the price cuts.20140505-061113 pm.jpgI’ve never, ever seen fresh fruit and veg be kept like this, I got a little excited about it but felt a little odd taking photos of veg. The variety of fresh fruit and veg was astonishing!20140505-061507 pm.jpgSome of the offers were fantastic and I have to say we’ll probably be shopping there again in the future. P2 enjoyed running around the shop, choosing a bag of raisins and other goodies to help put in the trolley. Everything in the shop was so neatly placed on the shelves and all the staff were very friendly.20140505-061712 pm.jpgOne downside of the trip was that another car decided to park on top of our bumper, however this wasn’t Morrisons fault but they dealt with it amazingly. Calling the driver over the tannoy. Luckily, no damage was done.20140505-061918 pm.jpgAll together we spent £101 which sounds a lot for a bank holiday weekend shop but we bought 100 items, but my hubby is very strict with money and we tend to buy all the “basics” “value” “savers” options in shops as they taste just as good. We managed to do our monthly shop thanks to Britmums and Morrisons plus extra for our bank holiday.20140505-062422 pm.jpg20140505-062428 pm.jpgI decided that this Bank Holiday Monday we’d grab some family and head for a picnic. The weather was absolutely beautiful, we got up very early and hubby cooked the filling for some fajitas, I cooked a cheese and bacon pasta bake, the girls helped to pack all the biscuits and savoury snacks into our hamper, blankets and plastic tableware and all!!

The girls really loved the freedom of a field and sandpit. I quite enjoyed laying in the sun whilst P2 had a nap. Although during this time a wasp flew past and hubby took great pleasure for about five minutes pretending that it was stuck in my hair. I got so hysterical that I ended up crying my eyes out. Clearly, it’s the pregnancy hormones and not because I’m a complete baby when it comes to flying bugs/wasps/bees.DSC_1577 DSC_1579 DSC_1581 DSC_1591 DSC_1603 DSC_1610 DSC_1611We had a truly fantastic day and the fact is was all thanks to Morrisons vouchers made the day that bit better!!

(I was given £80 of Morrisons vouchers by Morrisons, however, all opinions and photos are of my own)
