Fun On The Beach At Bluewater

Last week we got the opportunity to head to our local ish shopping centre for a special preview launch. Bluewater have welcomed a fun new attraction for the summer holidays called The Beach

I was so incredibly excited about our trip. We were the very first to walk through the gates and after a not-so-pleasant portaloo experience, we began our fun afternoon.

As soon as you walk inside The Beach it’s like being in a little bubble of old fashion seaside fun. There was hook a duck and other play to win stalls which the girls really enjoyed. They each had two turns and P1 was thrilled to win a fidget spinner, P2 chose a dog toy (obviously) and P3 picked to have a dinosaur and minion.

Entrance in to The Beach costs £3 per person and then you have to buy tokens to ride. They have a special deal where you can buy we for £10 or 20 for £20, or they cost £1.20 each. The rides are about 2-3 tokens per person per go. I do think this is quite expensive and it would be better for families to be able to buy wristbands.

There is a huge variety of rides to go on. Nearly everything is suitable for youngsters and there’s two rather grown up thrill rides too. P3 especially loved the Cars rides and the monster trucks. P1 loved going on the dodgems and P2 enjoyed the caterpillar rollercoaster.

A beach wouldn’t be a beach without water. I love how the Bluewater team managed to completely transform part of the car park into this seaside environment. Right in the centre there is a huge sandpit complete with deck chairs, and a few mermaids, and then there’s a blow up splash pool area which is perfect for kids. We did this bit nearer to the end of our visit so we didn’t have grumpy soggy kids.

As we were at the special launch event, the girls were able to ride the rides as much as they wanted. They were all so incredibly happy and entertained that the time went by so quickly. I honestly didn’t want it to end. P1 finished her last day at school that afternoon so it felt like a great way to mark that. We also had hot dogs, chips, slushies and sweets from the delicious food and drink stands.

The Beach is at Bluewater Shopping Centre, near Pizza Express and Zizzi, all of the summer holidays. I would highly recommend making a visit to it and I think we’ll be heading back a little later in the holidays. There was something just magical about that place that I want to hold on to. Check out my day in the life video of our really special day!
