Finding The Perfect Lunchbox Snack For My Fussy Eater With Soreen

When I was at school my break time snack consisted of a packet of crisps and a chocolate bar. Fast forward a few years and apparently a pack of crisps and a chocolate bar is not acceptable. P1s school is pretty strict when it comes to the snacks they are allowed. I remember running out of apples and passing a packet of crisps in her direction recently. When she came home, I got told off because she wasn’t allowed to eat her snack as it wasn’t appropriate. The thing is, it’s pretty hard to come up with healthy snacks for a school child especially when that school child is very fussy with healthy foods.

I was recently sent a box of Soreen goodies which included their Lunchbox Loaves in two different flavours, a sports bottle and a bright yellow mug perfect for my hot chocolate that I’m having daily. The two different flavours we were sent was the Banana Lunchbox Loaves and Original Malt Loaf Lunchbox Loaves. These little Lunchbox Loaves comes in a pack of five individually wrapped mini Loaves which make them perfect for lunch boxes or a handy snack when on the go.

Each Lunchbox loaf is a source of fibre, they have no crumbs and are suitable for vegetarians. They are also just 94 calories each. I personally don’t like the colour of them and I think this put off my middle daughter who is going through a phase of eating with her eyes. However, my two year old adores the malt loaf version and it’s the perfect size for her little hands. The squidginess also makes it perfect for her too and creates less mess so perfect for our little trips to the park or playgroups.

P1 was so excited when she came home and saw these little Loaves. She immediately popped one in her bag for the following day. The Soreeen Lunchbox Loaves are a great source of energy for little people and are definitely the perfect size for a snack mid morning or when you get home from school.

I definitely feel like we’ve found our new snack for P1. The Soreen Lunchbox Loaves meet the Governments nutritional standards for schools which means I won’t feel mum guilt or get told off by my 8 year old for providing her an inappropriate snack. Plus, these little packs of 5 cost just £1! How can you go wrong?

  3. These look really good (if they’d get past me into the children’s bags!!). Really struggle to find things like this out here in Sweden.

  4. I love these (let alone the kids). Great option for snacks and I like that there are a variety of flavours x

  5. Soreen is firmly established as Britain’s number one malt loaf, with its growing family of delicious fruit and malted products.
