Easter Fun At Tapnell Farm Park – IOW 2018

We woke pretty early after a full first night of sleep at The Orchards Holiday Park. The birds were singing and the sun rose over the countryside so beautifully. I took the time to cook porridge as requested by P2 and whilst Hubby had a snooze I began to edit the first vlog.

Easter Fun At Tapnell Farm Park – IOW 2018

We had such a lovely start that was quite chilled out. It’s funny when you come away from reality and things just weirdly slow down a bit. I felt like we are definitely going to be late for the opening time at Tapnell Farm Park, but we arrived just as the doors opened.

We visited Tapnell Farm for the first time last year and absolutely fell in love. We’d only had half a day there as we’d been booked into The Cow Co. restaurant. This time we’d planned to spend our first full day on the Isle of Wight at Tapnell.

so Tapnell Farm Park is a great mixture of a place to see cute farm animals and adventure play for kids. As it was Easter weekend there was an Egg Adventure Trail. P1 was so interested in this and took lots of care copying the eggs for not just herself but her two sisters too.

The girls quickly made their way to the Playbarn. Essentially it’s a huge barn filled with straw bales to climbing, crawl under and explore. Hubby was fantastic with the girls, chasing them and pretending to be a crocodile. The laughter and squeals of delight made me want to cry with happiness.

Also in the play barn are zip wires and go karts! There are brilliant ones where you can add the second seat to the back so grown ups can ride with a child on the back. We had great fun racing and chasing each other.

We then had a quick lunch break of hot cross buns and snacks. There is a cafe at Tapnell Farm and obviously the larger restaurant, both are reasonably priced but we wanted to maximise the fun time. After their quick lunch the girls headed into the soft play barn.

It’s very clean and well maintained. There’s ride ons, a dress up area, the soft play climbing area, a toddlers zone and a huge floor space with building blocks. I think the girls could have spent the entire day in there. Hubby and I definitely enjoyed some down time as they played happily together.

Tapnell Farm has lots of daily activities going on with the animals. We missed the Lamb feeding due to running around like crazy people in the straw playbarn, but managed to pop our heads in for the smaller animals. P2 even got to hold the cutest little Easter chick I’ve ever seen! She nearly cried with joy.

Outside at the farm there are two huge jumping pillows. A definite highlight for these three little cherubs of mine. Hubby even researched them to see if we could get one in our garden, but they are pretty massive! Once again Hubby turned into a crocodile and chased the girls on the jumping pillows. I don’t think I’ve heard so much laughter all at once from my three.

Tapnell also have wallabies, lambs, pigs and donkeys. The girls had a further explore and interaction with the farm animals before heading back inside for some more straw bale fun. The weather was windy, cold and a little bit rainy but it was meant to be the best day of our entire holiday so I’m so glad we did this when we did.

Tapnell Farm Park is literally 5 minutes away from where we was staying. It was quite difficult to keep the girls awake in that short time but somehow I managed it. Back at the caravan Hubby popped some chicken nuggets and poppers into the oven and the girls had some down time on their iPads. It felt so relaxing to not have work worries or bored children.

After their food had gone down a little bit, we decided to try out the swimming pool at The Orchards Holiday Park for the first time. The pool was the perfect temperature and the girls had a brilliant time. I honestly thought they’d all be really exhausted and moan continuously but they just didn’t. By the end of the night they were wiped though and after a little faffing from P2 they were all asleep quickly.

I have eight blog posts coming up from our most recent trip to the Isle of Wight and there’s a whole playlist for my Isle Of Wight holiday videos and I’d love it if you could pop over and take a watch. I hope you enjoy our video below and see you tomorrow for our third day on the Isle Of Wight.
