Dragon Craft Idea For Kids #BostikBlogger

This month’s theme for the #BostikBlogger campaign was Dragons. My girls seem obsessed with dragons and dinosaurs at the moment so this was quite an exciting project for them. I decided to give them some helpful tips but to pretty much allow them to make it by themselves. So here we have a dragon craft idea for kids. A friendly looking dragon, and here’s how you can make one too.

You Will Need:

  • 1 cardboard cone or a toilet/kitchen roll tube
  • 1 polystyrene ball
  • 1 red pipe cleaner
  • 1 A4 sheet of foam paper, green
  • Bits for decorating, for example gems/glitter paper/sequins etc
  • Green paint
  • a marker pen or googley eyes
  • Glue

First off you need to paint the cone/tube and the ball. This will be the dragon’s body and head. As you can see this is a job for all ages.

Next cut a tail and arms from the green foam. Using the gems and glittery paper, decorate the arms and tail how you wish. These are a cute little scale like effect for your dragon.

Wrap a piper cleaner around his neck and draw on his eyes and a mouth. Using glue, stick on the arms and tail.

There you have it. A rather friendly looking dragon made my a 7 year old, 3 year old and 17 month old. I am so proud of their little creations and it was so simple for them to make. He’s now their friend of course and will take pride place on the windowsill. This could easily be adapted to use up some of your recycling rubbish.
