DP – Feed Your Senses

Write down the first sight, sound, smell, and sensation you experienced on waking up today. Pick the one you’re most drawn to, and write. (For a bigger challenge, pick the one you’re least drawn to.)

I laughed when I read my DP email today. Absolutely perfect.

This morning:
Well, I woke facing away from my OH, my first sight was of my beautiful sleeping 14 week old in her Moses basket. Then there was the sound of my OH stirring and then he said “come here” and snuggled me into his chest. Whilst there I could smell his body, that strong smell of sleep everyone has when they wake up. Then I had the worst sensation which is the sense I will talk about most in this post.

The whole time I’ve been breast feeding I’ve had few times of my boobs feeling utterly painful. My mum and MiL had both told me of times they’ve felt like punching the person who’s brushed past her chest. I used to nod and agree even though I hadn’t actually felt like that before.

This morning, for some unknown reason both my boobs were rock solid and lumpy. My gosh they were painful! I snuggled next to my OH but just couldn’t stay there for long. I was in agony, and up sterilising my breast pump within minutes.

I’ve never felt such pain in my boobs. I did feel like hitting someone. Although my OH quite enjoyed the size of them and laughed at my expense.

I expressed 6oz this morning which was incredible! Compared to the normal 3oz, 4oz at a push.
