Recently, on the bottom of my posts I’ve been including links to some online donating pages for the charity, Bliss. I hope you noticed them! As you all know, because I bang on about it all the time, I’m a mother of a premature baby. My first born. My little ray of sunshine who fought through her first few weeks of life in hospital and is turning 5 on Tuesday, Christmas Eve.
This year I joined in with the Bliss Buggy Push. Hubby and the two girls came along and we actually had a fantastic time walking 5km along Southend Seafront. We even came first to finish, excellent for a non-walker. It gave me such a thrill of achievement to be raising money for such an important charity.
Bliss gives crucial support to families and friends with sick or premature babies. Their information was vital to my sanity when P1 was born. This year I am taking part in two fundraising events organised by myself; Cake A Difference & The Buggy Push.
I’m holding a cake sale on my local Green. Cake A Difference is about baking and selling in order to raise vital funds for Bliss. Cakes always go down really well with everyone and although I can’t make the prettiest of cakes they are rather tasty! I have been lucky enough to have some wonderful ladies who are baking and donating to the sale too so my poor oven won’t be in complete over drive.
Obviously, I understand that a lot of you are reading this from too far away to attend the cake sale so I’ve set up a little online donation site which I, and Bliss, would really appreciate a small or big gesture of love from anyone who would love to support, Cake A Difference.
Then there’s the Buggy Push. I’m organising a 5km buggy walk in Knole Park, Sevenoaks on the 1st June 2014. We’ll be meeting at 9:45am in the carpark with the aim to start the walk at 10am. I’m hoping to get some companies together to donate some prizes for the best dressed buggy on the walk (if you are a company and are interested in this please contact me)
To participate all you need to do is turn up on the day, donate £4 for adults, £2 for children walking and it’s free for buggy users. You could also gather sponsorships for the 5km walk by creating your own donation page online or by using the Sevenoaks Team Buggy Push donation page so we can see the total rise, especially as I aim to raise £500 for Bliss so please please dig deep for this one and if you can’t make it, so what? Donate anyway!
I hope to see some of you at the Buggy Push and maybe even the cake sale.
